Описание[1]
Стебло: на пръв поглед напомня T. rinconensis; обикновенно прави туфи с диаметър до 70 см; по отделно главите са плоско-сферични с диаметър 8-20 см и височина 6-15 см, пепеляво-сиви до бронзови
Ребра: разделени на ромбовидни мамили, заострени.
Радиални бодли: 3-4 (-5), разположени на кръст или един над друг, стърчащи в една посока, 1-12 см дълги, тъмно-сиви до черни.
Централни бодли: липсват
Цветове: до 6,5 см широки и 5 см дълги, белезникави до розови с пурпурна ивица по средата
Внимание: Растенията напомнят T. rinconensis, но за разлика от него създават групи до 65 броя. Има популации и с единични растения. На ниво клетъчна структура са идентични с T. hexaedrophorus. Цветовете им имат подобни черти както с T. rinconensis, така и с T. hexaedrophorus. По външни белези популациите от Ел Десиерто и Ла Болса имат вид близък до T. buekii, тези от Клавелинас приличат на T. rinconensis, а от Пасториз и Сан Антонио - на T. hexaedrophorus
Отглеждане:
Не особено трудни за отглеждане растения, стига човек да има търпение. Цъфтят към десетата си година при подходящо отглеждане. Нуждаят се от богат на хумус субстрат. Поливат се по-рядко, но обилно. Нуждаят се от директно слънце, за да запазят компактен вид, дълги и гъсти бодли. През зимата се държат напълно сухи при температури 3 - 15 °C. Издържат на краткотрайни застудявания до - 5° C.
Размножаване: От семена и издънки
Болести: Рядко страдат от фузариум и други гъбични болести. Възрастните растения често хвърлят корените си
