Стъбло: Сферично до леко издължено, зелено до тъмно синьо-зелено, до 12.5 см на височина и до 7 см в диаметър.
Туберкули: Големи, заоблени, конични, до 25 мм широки и 15 мм високи, закръглени към върха, с мъх по горната част.
Централни бодли: До 5, до 2.5 см дълги, закривени, белезникаво-кафяви с по-тъмни върхове, посивяват с течение на времето.
Радиални бодли: 8-14, до 16 мм дълги, на цвят като централните.
Корени: Голям, реповиден корен, почти равен в диаметър на стеблото.
Цветове: Фуниевидни, достигат до 5-6 см в диаметър, жълти, ароматни.
Отглеждане
Лесен за отглеждане кактус. Използвайте стандартен субстрат при пресаждане. Поради особеностите на корена се засаждат в по-дълбоки съдове. Светлолюбив кактус, може да понесе излагане на директните слънчеви лъчи, но се чувства идеално на лека сянка. През лятото се полива редовно и обилно. През зимата се държи напълно сух в светли и проветриви помещения при температури не по ниски от 8-10°C. Толерантен е към краткотрайни застудявания и мразове до -5°C.
