Описание[1]
Стебло: единични, плоско-сферични, с диаметър до 20 см и до височина 10 см, синкави до сиво-синкави
Ребра: 20, разделени на ромбовидни мамили със страна 2 см, разположени спираловидно.
Радиални бодли: 6-9 (-11), с дължина 5 (-30) см, при възрастни растения долните бодли се разплитат подобно на азбест, от жълти до кафяви
Централни бодли: (3) 4 (-6)р до 6 см дълги, леко завити, цепят се подобно на радиалните, кафяви в различни нюанси
Цветове: 7,5 см широки и 5 см дълги, бели до бледо-розови
Отглеждане:
Не особено трудни за отглеждане растения, стига човек да има търпение. Цъфтят към дванадесетата си година при подходящо отглеждане. Нуждаят се от богат на хумус субстрат. Поливат се по-рядко, но обилно. Нуждаят се от директно слънце, за да запазят компактен вид, дълги и гъсти бодли. През зимата се държат напълно сухи при температури 3 - 15 °C. Издържат на краткотрайни застудявания до - 5° C.
Размножаване: От семена.
Болести: Рядко страдат от фузариум и други гъбични болести. Възрастните растения често хвърлят корените си
