Описание[1]
Стебло: Единично или на туфа, цилиндрично, 6 см диаметър и 25 см височина, зелено
Ребра: разделени на мамили с основа до 6х6 мм, спираловидно разположени.
Радиални бодли: 20-25, до 1,5 см дълги, бели.
Централни бодли: 4, 3 са по-къси, подобни са на радиалните, дълги 2 см, четвъртият е най-дълъг, до 3 см, светлобежови
Цветове: до 5,5 см широки и до 4 см дълги, пурпурно-розови
Отглеждане:
Из между най-трудните за рода. Цъфтят трудно, не по-рано от осмата година. Нуждаят се от богат на хумус субстрат. Поливат се по-рядко, но обилно. Нуждаят се от директно слънце, за да не се източват прекалено за сметка на диаметъра. През зимата се държат напълно сухи при температури 3 - 15 °C на най-слънчевото място. Издържат на краткотрайни застудявания до - 5° C.
Размножаване: От семена и издънки
Болести: Страдат от фузариум и други гъбични болести. Най-често се разболяват зимата.
