Описание[1]
Стебло: Единично, яйцевидно, 5-8,5 см диаметър и 7-10 см височина, сиво-зелено
Ребра: 8-10, разположени спираловидно, разделени на мамили с дължина 8-12 мм и 7-9 мм ширина.
Радиални бодли: 20-22 (-25), 18-20 мм дълги, игловидни, лъчисто разположени, бели, рядко жълти.
Централни бодли: 4, разположени на кръст; горният е най-дълъг, до 10 см, бяло-жълт; долният е подобен, малко по-къс; останалите два са разположени хоризонтално, по-тънки и къси, до 6 см, червено-кафяви
Цветове: до 4 см широки и 3,5 см дълги, бели с червени или розови ивици
Отглеждане:
Не толко лесни за отглеждане растения, сравнително бавнорастящи. Цъфтят към петата си година при подходящо отглеждане. Нуждаят се от богат на хумус субстрат, по-дълбоки саксии (правят ряпа) Поливат се по-рядко, в никакъв случай обилно. Нуждаят се от директно слънце, за да запазят компактен вид, дълги и гъсти бодли. През зимата се държат напълно сухи при температури 3 - 15 °C. Издържат на краткотрайни застудявания до - 10° C.
Размножаване: От семена
Болести: Рядко страдат от фузариум и други гъбични болести. Често губят корените си.
