Описание[1]
Доста вариабилен вид. Нормално единични сплеснато-кълбовидни до цилиндрични кактуси, 8-15 см широки и 6-12 см високи. Тяло тъмно маслиненозелено, с вдлъбнат покрит с пух връх. Мамилите в редици по 5 - 8, 12-16 мм широки и 8 - 14 високи, аксилите първо с пух, после голи.
Корените са нишковидни или полу-реповидни.
Бодли: 10 до 20 радиални, белезникави, жълти до рогово оцветени, игловидни, седят хоризантално на ореолата, 0.9 - 1.6 см дълги, като млади пектинатни. Централните 1 (до 3 бр.) тъмно-кафеви, 1 см дълги или малко повече, извити надолу, се появяват късно, след петата до осмата година.
Цветове: Лимонено-жълти фуниевидни, 5 - 7 см широки, понякога с червеникава основа и крайче на венчелистчета, отварят се на върха на растението.
Плодове: Зелени 10 на 20 - 25 мм, с прикрепен остатък от цвета.
Отглеждане:
Coryphantha cornifera е лесна за отглеждане, но не трябва да се преполива и се нуждае от почва с добър дренаж. Умерено поливане през лятото, през зимния сезон се засушава. Директно слънце до лека сянка. Студоустойчивост: до -7 °C.
Размножаване: от семена и чрез присадки.
