Описание[1]
Стебло: Единично, плоско-сферично до сферично, 8 см диаметър и повече, бронзово
Ребра: необособени, мамилите са издължени, в основата си 5-6 стенни.
Радиални бодли: 6 бр, разположени звездообразно, много дълги, понякога завити надолу, в основата си са кафяви, в средата бежови, към върха сиви, трите горни са по-дълги до 4 см, трите долни до 2 см.
Централни бодли: 1, стърчащ, понякога завит надолу, до 8 см дълъг
Цветове: до 7 см широки и до 4,5 см дълги, карминовочервени
Отглеждане:
Сравнително лесни за отглеждане растения. Цъфтят към десетата си година при подходящо отглеждане. Нуждаят се от богат на хумус субстрат и малко по-широки от самото растение саксии. Поливат се по-рядко, но обилно. Нуждаят се от директно слънце, за да запазят компактен вид, бронзов цвят и дълги бодли. През зимата се държат напълно сухи при температури 3 - 15 °C. Издържат на краткотрайни застудявания до - 5° C.
Размножаване: От семена или издънки при по-възрастни растения.
Болести: Сравнително държеливи растения към гъби. Възрастните растения трудно хвърлят корените си
