Описание [1]

Стебло: сферично до цилиндрично, до 15 см диаметър и до 25 смвисочина, тъмно-зелено, прави големи групи с размери до 30х100 см

Мамили: къси, с размери 6-10х6 мм

Радиални бодли: 15-20, пектинатни, с дължина 1.2-1.5 см, стъклено-жълти

Централни бодли: 1 (-2), завит надолу, с дължина 1.2-2 см, тъмно-жълт до кафеникав

Цветове: до 4 см, жълти

Отглеждане:

Бавно растящи, непретенциозни към почвен субстрат растения. Поливат се рядко, но обилно. Цъфтят към осмата си година.Нуждаят се от директно слънце за да запазят компактен вид и гъсти бодли. През зимата се държат напълно сухи при температури 3 - 12 °C. Издържат на краткотрайни застудявания до - 10° C.

Размножаване: От семена или издънки.

Болести: Сравнително издържливи растения.
