Описание[1]
Стебло: плоско-сферично, 7 см диаметър в природата, матово зелено, практически невидимо из под гъстите бодли
Ребра: разделени на мамили 4-6 мм дълги,спирално разположени, при възрастни растения около 80 бр.
Радиални бодли: 20-27, до 3 см дълги, тънки, стъклено бели.
Централни бодли: 3-4, горните с дължина 2,5-4,5 см, стъклено-бели до жълти
Цветове: до 6 см широки и 4-5,5 см дълги, розово-лилави
Отглеждане:
Не толко лесни за отглеждане растения. Цъфтят към осмата си година при подходящо отглеждане. Нуждаят се от богат на хумус субстрат. Поливат се по-рядко, но обилно. Нуждаят се от директно слънце, за да запазят компактен вид, дълги и гъсти бодли. През зимата се държат напълно сухи при температури 3 - 15 °C на най-слънчевото място. Издържат на краткотрайни застудявания до - 10° C.
Размножаване: От семена и издънки
Болести: Рядко страдат от фузариум и други гъбични болести. Възрастните растения често хвърлят корените си
