Произход
Мексико (Veracruz, nr Acultzingo,).
Местообитание: Пустинни и хълмисти местности на височини до 1600 м надморско равнище.

Единичен кактус образуващ групи.
Стебло: Сферично, приплескано отгоре, маслинено-зелено, достига до 14 см на височина, и до 19 см в диаметър, покрито с филц на върха.
Ребра: Туберкуловидни, до 1.8 см на височина и до 2.2 см в основата.
Ареоли: Големи, елипсовидни.
Централни бодли: Липсват.
Радиални бодли: 7-8 , жълтеникаво кафяви, прави или леко закривени.
Цветове: Фуниевидни, преливащи от наситено пурпурно в розово или бели с червеникаво гърло, до 10 см в диаметър.
Отглеждане: Лесни за отглеждане кактуси. През лятото е добре да се засенчват. Задължително е почвата в която са засадени да е много пропусклива и добре дренирана, тък като корените им са много склонни към загниване. Поливат се пестеливо. През зимата се поддържат напълно сухи при температури над 10 °C. Толерантни са към кратки застудявания до -3 °C.
Размножаване: От семена или издънки.
