Описание

Стебло: Единично, плоско-сферично, 13 см диаметър и 8 см височина, светлозелено

Ребра: разделени на дребни мамили.

Радиални бодли: 20, долните с дължина около 13 мм, горните 20-30 мм, стъклено бели.

Централни бодли: 4, 5 см дълги, кремаво-бели

Цветове: до 7 см широки и до 3,5-6 см дълги, пурпурно-розови

Отглеждане:

Не толко лесни за отглеждане растения. Цъфтят към седмата си година при подходящо отглеждане. Нуждаят се от богат на хумус субстрат, по-дълбоки саксии (правят не голяма ряпа). Поливат се по-рядко, но обилно. Нуждаят се от директно слънце, за да запазят компактен вид и дълги бодли. През зимата се държат напълно сухи при температури 3 - 15 °C на най-слънчевото място. Издържат на краткотрайни застудявания до - 5° C.

Размножаване: От семена.

Болести: Страдат от фузариум и други гъбични болести. Най-често се разболяват зимата. Възрастните растения много често хвърлят корените си
